Honor in War (2003 winner of the Grade I Woodford Reserve Turf Classic on Derby Day and now in Australia) ran in Saturday’s Group 1 Emirates Stakes (1610m or One Mile) at Flemington. He had previously been held out of the Cox Plate after failing a precautionary test for steroids. With the drug fully out of his system Honor in War (30-1) failed to threaten and finished 14^th of 16 horses. Jockey Steven Arnold said that Honor in War received several checks and his run should be forgotten. Divine Madonna won the race.
