Gambling/Prediction Market Conference

I'm headed out to California on Sunday for a conference entitled The Growth of Gambling and Prediction Markets: Economic and Financial Implications. Some of the papers presented will end up in a special issue of Economica (i am not holding my breath). Two of the 50 or so presenters at this conference are celebrities (at least as far as economists go). Steve Levitt (of Freakonomics fame) is giving the Keynote address and has a paper in a break out session. Justin Wolfers whose study on racial bias among NBA refs is all over the news (ESPN, NY Times) will present in a Plenary Session. I am presenting Efficiency and Arbitrage Across Wagering Pools. A summary of the paper can be found in my first blog entry (Arbitrage and the Dr. Z System).
