Another 0fer. In the feature, Bees stalked the pace until the head of the stretch and then stopped. Rahy's Appeal never got into contention in the 6th and was a well beaten fourth. Total Bet yesterday was $120 ($12 in scratches).

The All-Stakes Pick 4 is especially tough given the wide open 12 horse field in the Whitney. While the Whitney will a competitive race, it looks like a weaker renewal with only two Grade I winners in the field - Brass Hat, whose Donn win was over a year ago and since then he has had only three starts, and Stephen Foster winner Flashy Bull. Even coming off his Stephen Foster win I suspect Flashy Bull will be 5-1 and at that price I still don't want anything to do with him (ok so I will have him as a saver on some of my Pick 4s). Perhaps if he wins (it would be his fifth straight) I'd take him seriously. I like Lawyer Ron and Sun King. Lawyer Ron appears to be marginally better than this group and will be a square price. Sun King should relish the two turns and ran well at Saratoga last year. As for the other three stakes races, I love Attila's Storm the Vanderbilt. He should be on the lead and at a price. I'll through in Diabolical while playing against the talented but fragile Commentator (13 races lifetime for the 6yo gelding; this race is too short for him, he's not fast enough to clear the field which is how he wins races, and it is his third race off a layoff - always a losing proposition for him). I'll eat chalk with Makderah in the Diana while also throwing Danzon on my Pick 4s. I'll spread with the logical horses in the Go For Wand.
