Saratoga Day 21 (Friday)

Thursday's results
Meneef did finish the hurdle race but was never in contention and he "jumped poorly and tired" according to the Form. Sargent Seattle was an early scratch from the Saratoga Special, reducing my Pick 4 play from $64 to $16. The Pick 4 streaks ended at four (I bought the first leg and then missed all of the others). I was high on Sabre Baby in finale but for some reason Edgar Prado pressed a hot pace and Sabre Baby was swallowed by closers in the stretch. Total bet and loss of $132.

Bankroll  $2076.95
Turnover  $4258

Race 3, a Maiden $35k Claiming race for New York breds, must be one of the worst fields assembled in the history of this prestigious meet. This group should be running at Finger Lakes not Saratoga -- and the likely winner Horse Thief has been twice beaten at FL.

Race 2: $176
$1 Pick 4  4/6/1,3,4,5,6,7,8,10/5 ($8)
$1 Pick 4  4/ALL/1,3,4,5,6,7,8,10/5 ($72)
$1 Pick 4  ALL/6/1,3,4,5,6,7,8,10/5 ($56)
$1 Pick 4  1,4/1,4,5,6,7,9/1,5,6,10/5 ($40)
Another brute force Pick 4 where I am trying to stay alive to Bees in the final leg.

Race 5: $100
$100 Win  5 Bees
Courtland Farms, Graham Motion --- hit me again!

Race 8: $50
$50 Win  3 Clifton Bay
So maybe Clifton Bay has not run as fast as these, faced weaker competition and had easy trips, but she has a nice turn of foot and is bred to improve running two turns at Saratoga.

Total Bet $326
