Live Updates
from my home in memphis in front of the computer and the HDTV:

276 combinations in the early Pick 4 dwindle to 2 as Indian Blessing wires the field in the slop. Proud Spell ran very well, getting up for second after wide trip. Izarra was also wide and finished well back. I'm glad we treaded lightly in the early Pick 4 as I detested Indian Blessing. For my personal bets I keyed Izarra and Proud Spell in tris and supers and dutched them. Down $89.20 so far.
12:17
Still alive by a thread in the Pick 4 as War Pass ran the same race that Indian Blessing did. He cleared the field and never looked back. With the kids eating lunch and watching Miss Spider Patch on the HD I was upstairs on the 19" old style - where War Pass ran out of my screen. I cashed a $50 Win ticket and a $2 exacta to put me slightly up on the day. Now come on longshots - All My Loving opens at 17/1 and Argentina at 6/1.

Let's break this streak of chalk!
1:00
ARRGH! Lahudood at 11-1. Alive 1 x 1 x 3 x 4 x 1 in the Pick Six. Both had Argentina and All My Loving had every chance.
1:13
The first three winners all prepped at Belmont Park. In fact the top three in the 2yo races ran last time out at the Big Sandy. Talent Search and Forefathers in the Sprint would continue the trend.
1:40
The Lute!
What a stretch run from the clouds. 1 x 2 x 4 x 1 seems a little bit more reasonable.
1:51
Pick 4 pays $1032.80. Not bad for a sequence that went chalk-chalk-bomb-chalk.
2:18
Getting nervous. If Nobiz Like Shobiz wins than we are done. He is 4/1 on the board right now. $2000 bankroll for Pick 4s and the Pick 6 and not a cent on him. Got to go all out! Go Excellent Art!
2:29
Kip Deville wins! While we are out of the Pick Six (but alive for the consolations), it is nice to have 240 combinations in the running in the Pick 4 with an 8/1 out of the gate. Kip Deville got a perfect trip and just held on to beat Excellent Art.
2:40
I'm alive in the Pick 3 to everyone in the field and twice to Tough Tiz's Sis and Bear Now, and three times to Ginger Punch, Lady Joanne, Indian Vale, and Unbridled Belle.
3:12
Things look good ... assuming Ginger Punch survives this inquiry.
3:17
What the heck? This is a long inquiry. Getting nervous.

It's official! We are very alive in the Pick 4.

English Channel dominates. Alot of chalk. Though the 4/5 favorite Dylan Thomas was knocked out, I still think we still won't make back our bankroll should one of our five horses in the Classic win. I'll post will pays asap.
4:06
Here is our order of preference for the Classic
3 Any Given Saturday - $4310 + 9 Pick 6 consolations
4 Curlin - $3013
8 Hard Spun - $2763
2 Street Sense - $1216
1 Lawyer Ron - $1134
So we get part of our bankroll back if Lawyer Ron or Street Sense wins and we make a bit on Hard Spun, Curlin, and Any Given Saturday.
4:17
Wow, the Pick 6 to Any Given Saturday will pay $509,000.
4:46
Curlin wins and claims Horse of the Year. Any Given Saturday stalked but had nothing at the top of the stretch. We made some money! Maybe 50%. No consolation Pick 6 but a we had $2 on correct Pick 4 combination.
Off to be with my kids after ignoring them all day.
