Sorry to have disappeared for a few weeks. I'm finishing up the semester and things are hectic as usual.
ADD and YxW are doing great and should show up in a race sometime before the end of the year.
YxW worked a half mile in :49 1/5 on Saturday. We'd like to run her in a the Starter Allowance races for horses that have run for a $25k tag and not won two race lifetime. There 6f sprints in this condition written for Dec 21 and Dec 23 - let's hope one of those goes. We entered her in this condition going a Mile and 70 yards but the race didn't fill - probably just as well, her pedigree is sprinter all the way.
We plan to enter ADD in another $16,000 claiming race for non-winners of a race at this level in six months, but this time we'll cut her back to 6 1/2 f. Her race would be on Dec 22 if it fills.
Both horses were entered in the Mistletoe Starter Handicap. The Mistletoe is a 6f sprint , carries a $45k purse, and is restricted to horses that have run for a $16k tag sometime in the last two years. Weights come out next Tuesday. If the Mistletoe has a short and/or weak field we might run'em and hope to get a piece of the purse. If the Truxton entry were to go we'd have a speedster and a closer, which would be a nice position to be in. However, I suspect they'll be overmatched so we'll probably stick with the Alw 25000s and Clm 16000N1Y.
The races are full and then some at Philly Park. Saturday's card has 97 entrants in 10 races with 26 on the also eligible list. Sunday's card has 92 in 10 races with 14 AEs. The purses are great and Delaware and New Jersey are closed for the season.
