We live in a Golden Age
I logged into my Youbet.com account this morning and discovered that there were 477 races at 45 tracks available for wagering. Almost 19 hours of non-stop action from 7:30am - mid-card at Eskilstuna (harness track in Sweden) and Turffontain (thoroughbreds in South Africa) - to 2:20am - the night cap at Cranbourne in Australia. There were races from Puerto Rico, South Africa, Sweden, Chile, England, Australia, and Canada. Seven races were over the jumps at Aintree. 17 harness tracks hosted a total of 206 races. Four tracks featured the American Quarterhorse.
For my part I played Aqueduct, Hawthorne, Gulfstream, Oaklawn, and Cranbourne. I cashed one ticket (Seventh Street in the Apple Blossom) and got nosed out of the Aqueduct Pick 4 (will pay of $414) by Kodiak Cowboy. I'm hanging by a thread in the Australia Pick 4 (1 x 3 x 1) after a Royal Dalton (11/1 in the US and AUS), the longest shot on the board in a four horse field, came flying home late to take the opener. Off to bed. I'll check on the results in morning.
