Michael Lewis at the races
Just finished reading "Home Game: An Accidental Guide to Fatherhood" by Michael Lewis. I thoroughly enjoyed it and highly recommend it as I do everything I've read by Lewis (The Blind Side, Moneyball, Liar's Poker, Coach). I found it especially interesting since I have three kids (6yo Caroline, 4yo William, and nearly 2yo Joshua).
Michael Lewis is one of a handful of authors whose books/articles I will read regardless the subject. In my writers pantheon he sits alongside Larry McMurtry, Dick Francis, Andy Beyer, Steven Crist, William Nack, Lewis Grizzard, James McPherson and Rick Telander. (Ok, so, despite teaching at a fancy liberal arts college I'm not all that literate or literary or whatever)
In Lewis' book he has a story about a trip to the Fairgrounds with his two daughters. Here is the original Slate column.
Lewis' trip was far more enjoyable than my trip to Southland Greyhound Park with my daughter Caroline two year ago.

Enjoyed the short article. I will look up some of the Lewis books.
