The newest Truxton runner, Cornell, a two year old gelding by Malibu Moon out of the Tabasco Cat mare Lady Julia faces seven in a $15000 Claiming race at Turfway Park over 1 1/16 miles on Sunday. Cornell was privately purchased from Padua Stables last month as horse to run at the upcoming meet at Oaklawn Park (only a few hours from Memphis!). He's fit and ready to run so trainer Randy Matthews entered him in this spot. The purse is a paltry $9,400 (versus $26,000 at Philly Park and $16,500 at Oaklawn).
